Jun 10,  · "Speak" is an anthology of early recordings from No-Man, i.e. Porcupine Tree's multi-instrumentalist Steven Wilson and vocalist Tim Bowness. Initially self-released on cassette in , the album was digitally remastered from the original analogue 8-track tapes and partially re-recorded (vocals on all songs except two have been recorded anew) and released on CD in only in Italy/5(7).

The first CD Edition of Speak was issued by Italian label Materiali Sonori in , and comprised the first 12 tracks on this disc. The Hidden Art of Man Ray is from the same era, but was not included on the Materiali Sonori edition since the original master tapes no longer exist and it was therefore not possible to remix and denoise as with /5(5).

Early B-side "Iris Murdoch Cut Me Down" is already there in structure if not in total form, while the dramatic conclusion to Loveblows and Lovecries, "Heaven's Break," appears here practically the same as the final take, sheer epic loveliness incarnate, with Richard Felix's guest harmonica adding an extra touch not found on the future version.6/

Speak is a compilation album consisting of previously obscure material by British Art rock band No-Man. Originally, recorded between and , the songs were re-mixed and re-sung in (during the band's sessions for Returning Jesus). The songs had only been released on compact cassette earlier in the band's bladeterrorzanntegal.infoinfo: Ambient, Art rock.

"Pink Moon" is the Nick Drake cover. This is a fragile and atmospheric track. "Iris Murdoch Cut Me Down" is dark and atmospheric to open. Percussion comes in. Very cool sounding. Vocals after 2 minutes. A child's voice comes in late/5.
